0. Prepare your project and a practice level

Build this example in your Unreal project and compare the result at each step.

On this page

You need an Unreal project with Scientific Number Tools installed, enabled, and built for your engine version. The exercises below start from scratch using public nodes from the plugin and Unreal.

    1. Open your project. If it is running, stop Play before editing.
    2. Press Ctrl+Space to open the Content Drawer. You can also use Window → Content Browser → Content Browser 1.
    3. Inside Content, create a folder named ScientificNumberPractice. Inside it, create Blueprints, UI, and Data. These names organize the assets you will make during the guide.
    4. Use File → New Level → Empty Level. If you have changes in the previous level, save them first. Save the new level inside ScientificNumberPractice as L_MiPractica.
    5. Open World Settings and set GameMode Override = GameModeBase so your game rules do not add an unrelated interface or character to the exercise.
    6. Save with Ctrl+S. If you already created these folders and this level while following the guide, continue using them; you do not need duplicates.

What you should see: an empty practice level. When you press Play, there is not yet an Actor that prints numbers or an interface created by this exercise. In the next section, you will add the first Actor.
