Optional Toolset Registry adapter for querying and reviewing SaveTether.
On this page
SaveTether works without AI. Its optional Toolset Registry adapter is independent of the C++ core and does not require MCP or a remote service. In Unreal Engine 5.8, enable the optional Toolset Registry plugin yourself and restart the editor; SaveTether never enables engine plugins on your behalf. Toolset Registry is experimental and may not be present in every engine distribution.
The SaveTetherTools toolset exposes six operations:
- review_with_baseline(declarations_path, previous_manifest_path, max_records=10000) starts a review against the explicitly selected prior manifest.
- review_initial_declarations(declarations_path, max_records=10000) starts a first-release review without inventing a baseline.
- get_review_status() polls progress, terminal status, coverage, counts, and validation reasons.
- get_review_page(section, offset=0, limit=10) reads changes, mappings, or findings in bounded pages.
- export_report(output_directory, allow_partial=false) writes a report to an explicitly selected existing local folder. A partial or cancelled export requires the user’s explicit approval.
- capture_release(output_directory) writes a release manifest to an explicitly selected existing local folder, only after a current, complete review with no rejected mappings.
The two review operations and the two result-reading operations are read-only. Export and capture are write operations: never infer permission to call them from a request merely to inspect or compare data. Use the exact folder selected by the user, poll status until the operation is terminal, and verify its resulting path. Inputs must be explicit local JSON paths; the review budget is 1–100,000 identities and only one review runs at a time. SaveTether does not open saved games, alter declarations, or execute migrations. A completed review is not proof that a game’s loader will remain compatible. Inspect partial coverage, rejected mappings, paths, and findings before sharing. See mapping rules, reports, and release capture.
