Interpret findings

Review a code with its source, path, severity, and evidence. These findings report inventory facts; they do not validate playback, codecs, or delivery policy.

Code	Meaning	What to check
MEDIATETHER-FILE-MISSING	Expected file was not found.	Correct the source path or restore the expected file.
MEDIATETHER-FRAME-MISSING	A frame inside the explicitly declared range is absent.	Restore the frame or correct the pattern/range if it was declared incorrectly.
MEDIATETHER-PATH-EXTERNAL	Source resolves outside the delivery root; no portable relative path exists.	Choose the intended delivery root or update the media asset yourself.
MEDIATETHER-FILE-UNREADABLE	Metadata or read access failed; absence has not been established.	Check permissions, file locks, and the containing path, then rerun.
MEDIATETHER-NOT-A-FILE	A directory was found where a file was expected.	Select the correct file or source asset.
MEDIATETHER-SEQUENCE-UNAVAILABLE	Sequence directory is absent or inaccessible.	Check the directory path and access permissions.
MEDIATETHER-RANGE-UNDECLARED	Sequence files were inventoried without a frame pattern/range.	Add the correct rule before treating any gap as meaningful; no gaps were inferred.
MEDIATETHER-SOURCE-UNSUPPORTED	Source kind or path could not be inspected, including an unsupported proxy override.	Use a supported File Media Source or Img Media Source and review its path/proxy settings.
MEDIATETHER-PATH-UNSAFE	A network, device, alternate-stream, junction, or symbolic-link path was refused.	Use a direct local path without links or reparse ancestors.
MEDIATETHER-SOURCE-CHANGED	Observable file or directory metadata changed during inspection.	Stop edits/processes that change the source and run a fresh inventory.

Missing and unreadable are different: an access error is not evidence that a file is absent. Sequence gaps are reported only inside one explicit pattern and inclusive range.

Completed means selection traversal finished, even if findings are errors. Partial means limits, unsupported sources, missing sequence context, unreadable paths, skipped subdirectories/proxies, or observed changes prevented full coverage. Cancelled remains Cancelled; an empty selection is NoApplicableData. Changing files invalidates the report; inventory again before export.
