Troubleshooting
Diagnose unsupported sources, partial reports, and failed exports.
On this page
- Panel is missing: enable the plugin, restart the Editor, and build the project’s Win64 Editor target with a compatible C++ toolchain.
- ImgMediaSource is unavailable: confirm the built-in ImgMedia dependency is enabled; restart the Editor. ImgMedia is required for sequences in UE 5.8.
- An item is Missing or Unreadable: verify the source path and local permissions. Unreadable means absence was not established; resolve access first, then inventory again.
- A path is External or Unsafe: choose the correct delivery root and use direct local paths. Network, device, alternate-stream, junction, and symbolic-link paths are not inspected.
- A sequence is Partial: provide one contiguous frame pattern and inclusive range if you need gap detection. Confirm the sequence directory exists and check skipped subdirectories/proxy overrides in coverage reasons.
- Profile is rejected: check schemaVersion 1, strict JSON types, required fields, and asset paths that resolve in this project. Save to a new filename; existing files are preserved.
- The current result is stale: editing a source or media file invalidates the report. Stop edits and run a new inventory.
- Export is blocked: select an existing local output folder outside every inspected sequence folder. Partial or cancelled coverage requires enabling the explicit partial-export option; Failed and empty reports cannot be exported.
- Staging remains after a failure: it is not a published manifest. Inspect it and preserve unexpected files before retrying; the plugin stages and verifies output to avoid replacing prior reports.
Completed means traversal finished, not that media playback, codecs, or cooking were validated. Use Copy diagnostics for a support snapshot and inspect any manifest or log for private paths before sharing.
