Declare image sequences
Define a frame pattern and an explicit range to detect gaps.

Use one contiguous run of # characters in the pattern: shot2_####.png matches four-digit frame numbers; the 2 in shot2 is literal. start and end are inclusive, non-negative, and at most 100000 apart.
The panel rule applies to all selected ImgMediaSource assets. A JSON profile can store per-asset rules. Without a rule, files are inventoried but missing frames are not inferred. Enumeration is one directory level; subdirectories and proxies are skipped with coverage reasons. See a profile example.
